Raptors pound Clippers without Leonard

LOS ANGELES (AP) Kyle Lowry was in a funk right along with his Toronto Raptors. He had a combined 15 points in his last five games while the team had lost three of four.

Adding to their woes, leading scorer Kawhi Leonard was out with a bruised right hip against the surprising Clippers.

"It was just time for me to step up and play," Lowry said.

Reserves spark Rockets past Blazers

HOUSTON (AP) The Houston Rockets' bench came to the rescue twice Tuesday night, and the second time made the difference.

James Harden had 29 points and seven Rockets scored in double-figures as Houston used a big second-half run and snapped a three-game losing streak with a 111-103 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Spurs win 3rd straight, Suns' skid at 10

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Bryn Forbes was happy to finally earn the first double-double of his basketball career, and even happier that it came in another San Antonio Spurs victory grounded in defense.

Forbes had a season-high 24 points and a career-best 11 rebounds as the Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns 111-86 on Tuesday night.

Cavaliers F Thompson could miss 1 month

CLEVELAND (AP) Tristan Thompson's strong season has stalled.

Cleveland's starting center could miss a month after spraining his left foot in Monday night's 108-92 loss at Milwaukee. Thompson has been playing at an All-Star level and has been one of the few bright spots for the struggling Cavaliers, who are 6-21 and already missing star forward Kevin Love.

Raptors coach Nurse back after mom dies

LOS ANGELES (AP) Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse has rejoined his team in Los Angeles after the death of his 94-year-old mother.

Nurse says his mother, Marcella Nurse, died Monday in Iowa, where he was born in the city of Carroll.

LOS ANGELES (AP) LeBron James hit his first free throw to put the Lakers up by two. Dwyane Wade sidled up to him before the second shot.

"Bro, just miss it so I can shoot the game-winner," Wade said in the waning seconds of their last game together. "Me and you. One on one. Just let me shoot it and go for it."

George scores 31 as Thunder roll by Jazz

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Paul George heard the "MVP! MVP!" chants from the sellout crowd at Chesapeake Energy Arena, and while the Oklahoma City star appreciated them, he was happier the Thunder had just beaten the foe that ended their season last spring.

George went 5 of 6 from 3-point range and scored 31 points, Dennis Schroder added 23 and the Thunder beat the Utah Jazz 122-113 on Monday night.

Morris gets depleted Celtics by Pelicans

BOSTON (AP) Kyrie Irving's shoulder wasn't sore enough to keep him from cheering for Marcus Morris Sr. when he hit three 3-pointers to start the second half and propel Boston to a double-digit lead.

Al Horford's injured knee didn't keep him from leaping to his feet when Jayson Tatum drove past Anthony Davis for a dunk.
