Aldridge scores 45, Spurs top Jazz in OT

SAN ANTONIO (AP) LaMarcus Aldridge had a career-high 45 points, helping San Antonio overcome Donovan Mitchell's 35-point performance for Utah in the Spurs' 124-120 overtime victory over the Jazz on Friday night.

The Spurs won their sixth straight and beat the Jazz for the first time in four meetings this season.

Utah's 12-game road winning streak came to an end, but only after Mitchell had 14 points in the fourth quarter, including three 3-pointers in the final two minutes to force overtime.


Celtics PG Irving to have knee surgery

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) The Celtics say All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving is set to have surgery Saturday to alleviate pain in his left knee.

Irving has been out since March 11, missing the last four games. There is no timetable for his return from the "minimally invasive" procedure.


Lowry has 25-12-10 as Raptors down Nets

TORONTO (AP) The Raptors weren't feeling too good about themselves after a fourth-quarter rally gave Toronto its 12th straight win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Kyle Lowry had 25 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in his 10th triple-double with Toronto, Jonas Valanciunas scored 23 and the Eastern Conference leaders beat Brooklyn 116-112 on Friday night.

CHICAGO (AP) Shabazz Muhammad and fellow reserves Brandon Jennings and Tony Snell took care of the scoring with Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined by a sprained right ankle.

Muhammad scored 21 points and the Bucks overcame another sluggish start to beat the Chicago Bulls 118-105 on Friday night.


Jokic, Murray help Nuggets down Wizards

WASHINGTON (AP) Will Barton tuned out the friends and family shouting his name because he had a much bigger concern.

Essentially shooting for his team's season, Barton scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter as the Denver Nuggets beat the Washington Wizards 108-100 on Friday night to keep their playoff hopes alive. Denver is on the outside looking in on the Western Conference playoff picture, but has now won two in a row to put some more heat on the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz.


Akron latest with billboard to woo James

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) LeBron James can almost see from his backyard the latest billboard enticing him to sign as a free agent.

In response to other cities displaying signs hoping to land James, who can become a free agent this summer, a realtor in his hometown of Akron paid for a billboard with a message reminding the NBA star that he doesn't have to go anywhere.
