(STATS) - Southern Utah won't have to wait until 2023 to play Arizona State for the first time.
The two programs have announced they will meet in 2021 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. They previously announced a 2023 matchup three years ago.
"This will give our Arizona players an opportunity to play in their home state, in front of friends and family," Southern Utah coach Demario Warren said, "as well as give our entire team and staff a chance to compete at one of the best and upcoming programs in the country."
Southern Utah was the Big Sky co-champion in 2017, but fell to 1-10 last season. Arizona State, a Pac-12 member, was 7-6 in coach Herm Edwards' first season last year.
